and so it begins

My name is Kyla and I am a fat girl. Yep, I said it. My entire life I have had a weight problem. Nothing crazy, I've just always been a little bigger than everyone else. So, with that said, today is the day I begin my quest to get healthy, loose weight, and become the best Kyla I can be!

You might be thinking, "why are you starting today?" Thanksgiving is next week and Christmas is right around the corner. I know this is a crazy time to begin a weight loss program but this time I want it to be forever. Also, a year ago today I was being taken back for surgery at MD Anderson. Today is the day I found out I had ovarian cancer. That day changed my life forever so it seems fitting to start something positive today that will change my life forever.

Here's my plan! A while back, my best friend took me to a CrossFit class and it was the greatest and worst experience ever. The actual workout, not including warm-up was only like 15mins. It was over quickly but it was the most intense 15mins. I walked away tired and sore but continued to go. I saw some body change and felt very strong and firm but I didn't see the results I wanted. It's not CrossFit, it was me. I wasn't consistent in my workouts or my nutrition. Even after having Cancer, I tried a few times to be consistent but I didn't have my head in the game. I was not determined to really put in the time and effort and to see results you MUST put forth effort. This year I have seen many of the CrossFitters do the work and they look amazing. So I know CrossFit works and I believe in the workouts and nutrition principles.

So, starting today I am doing a CrossFit challenge. I'm going to do a CrossFit WOD (workout of the day) 3-4times a week and follow the nutrition guidelines. I will be very honest and will post my progress. Here's a link to my Crossfit gym. You can read more about crossfit and see my workouts. http://capstonecrossfit.com/
